He runs the Mienfoo Dojo in Tao Village where Pokemon can evolve, he will give an Evolutionary Scroll to deserving teams that have earned the rights to the secret of evolution. He is the Grandson of Master Shao. He says that he will never evolve until his grandfather has passed away. Foo has a strange respect for Shao but refuses to talk about it.

History

Foo training Shroomsworth

Foo had trained under his grandfather for many years learning the ways of evolution. Before the time of PK and Shroomsworth's arrival in Tao he set up a dojo there. He got donations from the Merchants to keep his dojo up.

One day, Shroomsworth came to town trying to sway Foo as his business partner, contending that his dojo could work much better with more profit behind it. Master Foo's condition for humoring this deal was to be beaten in a sparring match. By a landslide, Master Foo was the victor, but noted Shroomsworth's lack of attempts to hinder him in the ways that Shroomish tend to. When told that puffing out spores was 'disgusting' and that he would never do it, Master Foo attempted to reason with him, explaining that it was their only real natural defense against aggression. Even knowing that, Shroomsworth stubbornly refused, stating that he'd rather fight with dignity than resort to disgusting tricks, even if it wasn't what he was 'supposed' to do.

Admiring Shroomsworth's spirit, Master Foo did not accept his business deal, but did pass on an Evolutionary Scroll, allowing him to evolve into a Breloom, giving him the chance to fight the way he wanted to. From then on to the present, Master Foo sparred with him in an attempt to hone his skills toward his newly-gained Fighting-type nature. When expressing his confusion over this generosity, Shroomsworth was told of the Merchant's Guild, and how it was their place to sell things, not his.

He decided it would be good to renovate his dojo so others could learn the ways of evolution.

Mission 1

Graffiti on Foo's dojo

A gang run by a Scrafty named Almond covered his dojo in graffiti. The Merchants helped Foo renovate his dojo.

Mission 1 Epilogue

Soon after Misison 1, Foo opened his dojo so that other could learn the ways of evolution.

Successor

Master Foo visits Sapling Village to pay his respects to the Elder Shroom but finds Shroomsworth on the verge of hitting another merchant in the Commerce Mushroom. He puts a stop to it and later takes Shroomsworth to the grave of the Elder Shroom.

During his stay in Sapling Village, Master Foo also helps Sporegard evolve into a Breloom.

??? Mission 7

While walking back to Tao with Shroomsworth, Foo was suddenly transported to Prismatic Jungle. Immediately he met up with Mike, Vertigo, and members of the merchant guild. Foo encouraged Mike to hide, though his tail was too bright. Foo worked with the merchants to find and rescue Sherri.

Master Shao is an old and extremely wise Mienshao and the grandfather of Master Foo. He's a tutor for all sorts of moves a Pokemon might not normally be privy to. He has a hut out near Snowy Village and has been a hermit for a while. He's known Zhu for a long time and finds delight in the fireworks shows his friend puts on display. He is rather hard of sight and hearing in his old age, but is still a master in combat. He has an unfortunate fondness for puns.

History

Master Shao is ancient and has traveled the world and learned techniques that most Pokemon forget exist.

Mission 4

During the RescuerMission 4, Shiv kidnapped all the citizens of Snowy Village, except for Master Shao, Barkley and Zhu. The main goal was to enter the Whispering Peaks and locate Shiv, then rescue the hostages and help Chill defeat him and obtain the Icicle Triangle from him.

Event 6

Shao traveled to Tao Village to visit his grandson, and offered to train villagers at the dojo to learn special moves in exchange for an evolution scroll.

Mission 7

Since his grandson was among the missing, Master Shao took it upon himself to hand out evolution scrolls to teams that assisted in planting around the village and Creeping Forest in Event 6.

Tasks

Master Shao asked for any guild member in refreshing his memory by performing certain moves in combat. He asked for any move that drains life, confuses, or caused paralysis. As a reward, teams were given one point and were also given the option in revamping their moveset by the master himself.
