Rescuers' Mission 4

Part 1

-==RESCUER’S ACTION BULLETIN==-

Icon Chill.png
Hey fellow Rescuers, Chill here! I don’t really know how to say this, so I’m just gonna get straight to the point: we’ve got bad news.

As you all know, that ice dragon Kyurem arrived in Tao Village after PK brought it back from that cave, and turned the village into a frosty kingdom overnight. Sure, it’s cold, but definitely not cool. Snow days are fun and all, but the sickness that hit our fellow villagers definitely wasn’t. Not cool at all.

I, ahh... I can’t help but feel responsible for all this though. You guys tried your best and your hardest, and you guys make me so proud. Even though we didn’t succeed, don’t go beating yourselves up over it. It’s not your fault, you did everything that you could.

And I...
Icon Chill Sad.png
If only I had gotten there sooner or done things differently... I’m sure things would have turned out better! Whatever the Merchants had planned obviously isn’t working out that well at all. At least a cure for that nasty cold has been found, so now those who got sick are healthy again. And just in time too! We need the extra help.

Icon Chill Annoyed.png
Now we've gotta do something about this dragon, and I think I might know just how to do it! See, there's this old myth in my hometown, Snowy Village, of something that might help us even the odds. It's a little dicey, but if I can get to the bottom of this, it will help everyone out in a big way! I wish I could say more but with everything on thin ice, I can't risk it. Sorry dudes!

I know everyone wants to help out, but I'm gonna have my hands full baby-sitting Mike's little sister, Maple, on this trip. I know her mom is the notorious legendary Rogue Syrup, but anyone that shares the ideals of a Rescuer can be a Rescuer, regardless of where they come from.

But... she’s still just a kid, y’know?

So we need strong, experienced 'mons that have completed two or more missions or have an evolved teammate to help tough it out. The best of the best! Though if you're dead-set on helping me, you can work together with another team that meets those requirements. And this may sound uncool, but I need all you Ice-types to stick around Tao Village this time. I can't say why, but trust me on this!

I'm gonna go on ahead to scout out Snowy Village to make sure everything's cool, and if you cool dudes would like to join me, I've left a sweet map of where we can meet up. Stay awesome, fellow Rescuers! I know if we work together, we can do this!

Stay cool, Chill~

Icon Mike.png
Whew... Hello, Mike here.

I’m okay, I’m okay!! That fever almost burned me out, but I’m tougher than that!!

Icon Mike Forgotten.png

… you all knew I was sick, right???

Uh, well... anyways, this illness bomb that PK set on everyone proves a point: we got to do something about Sorbet, who calls himself... wait, is it a he? Bah! Whatever Sorbet is, it’s a "Kyurem," and I bet there was a book written about it somewhere... Chill thinks it’s probably in that giant library that Merlot has. I really really don’t want to go back in Merlot’s castle, I’ve had enough maid dresses for a lifetime!!

...uh, oh... yeah. Info, right... that’s important. Um, the library is headed by an Eevee and a Chandelure by the name of Lexy and Caldera... We should focus on whatever Lexy can do for us, I just don’t want to try anything with a ghost...

...oh shoot, Kathy says that Lexy is pretty eccentric. Ummmmmm... I’m pretty sure this means that if you just listen to whatever he says, he’ll eventually butter up and give you whatever info that Lexy has on Kyurem! So just... be nice to him?

Icon Mike Confused.png

Wait... ah! Tao Ranch is in trouble!! Udon’s taking Iceburg and Ovaltine hostage! Oh, and all the food too, but this is a clear and complete Dragon-napping!! Why the heck does Udon want Iceburg and Ovaltine specifically?? Iceburg and Ovaltine know Udon??? Wait, she wants Ruben too??? And Udon knows about Ruben??? This is so confusing!! Agh, that does it!!

Rescuers, stop Udon from her awful demands!! The food’s really important, but so are the lives of three Pokemon!! You don’t wanna see them in maid outfits, don’t you?? Well, maybe Ruben because she’s pretty cute, but I wouldn’t live with a conscience if any of them become Merlot’s slaves... so save them!! Oh, and the food too, that’s important... yeah... Once you get Udon away from those three, you should all help Iceburg and Strawberry store their crops safely so they don’t freeze!

The ever-burning flame, Mike.

MISSIONS

You may choose any of these missions. Main missions are considered harder and longer to draw, and they make a difference in the storyline.

MAIN MISSION
Mission3res1.png
Chill has an idea about a mission in Snowy Village and has headed there with Maple. Arrive there after him to be debriefed. The village has a giant wall, so you’ll have to knock on the door to be let in. Arrive at the door to end Part 1 of this mission.

You may not participate in this Main Mission unless you have an evolution on your team, or unless you have completed at least two missions (i.e. Mission 1 and 2, not just several missions from Mission 1, for example). If you do not meet these requirements, you must collaborate (as in you both work on the same entry, NOT just cameo) with a team that does in order to participate in this Main Mission. No Ice-types may participate in this mission.

When you have arrived at the entrance to Snowy Village (please don’t show entering the village), wait for Part 2 of this mission to be released to continue your story. Part 2 comes out Oct 17th.

SIDE MISSIONS
Mission3res2.png
Lexy at Castle Draclugia has some interesting Pokede- er, tomes on Kyurem. Challenge him to and win a battle of wits in order to obtain a library card, thus being allowed to borrow information freely (and legitimately).

Mission4res2.png
Strawberry has come asking for help! Apparently, Udon showed up (from Merlot’s castle?!) demanding that Iceburg surrender all the fruits and veggies at Tao Ranch. Then, apparently, she stated that Iceburg and Ovaltine both needed to come back with her to Castle Draclugia! Help settle the conflict peacefully so Udon leaves without destroying the farm in a rampage! (We need those veggies, you know.)

MISSION OBJECTIVES
MAIN MISSION
Part 1
-Depart for Snowy Village
-Stop in front of Snowy Village’s door and state your business to be let in

When you have arrived at the entrance to Snowy Village (please don’t show entering the village), wait for Part 2 of this mission to be released to continue your story. Part 2 comes out Oct 17th.

No Ice-types are allowed to go.

SIDE MISSIONS
1) -Go to Castle Draclugia’s library
- Fight Lexy in a battle of wits and win in order to get a library card
- Get binder of information on Kyurem

2) -Go to Tao Ranch
- Find out why Udon is throwing a fit
-Send her back to Castle Draclugia peacefully, even if you have to give in to some of her demands

Mission 4 ends on Monday, November 21st

Ahh, Shiv! Where is he? Shiv come back here, you coward! Finish the fight! We're not done here!

Augh, my body. Not cool. I feel like I got hit by a Mamoswine. Man, why is everything so cold? I-... that instrument. The Triangle. He's got the Icicle Triangle. And Ace. Ace is on his side? . . . wait no.

Lemme think here a minute. I must have passed out in the snow. And that’s when they found me. Yeah.

Maple, are you alright? Maple... wh--

Icon Chill Distraught.png
He... he got Maple! Aww geez, he got the kid. Mike’s gonna kill me. Really not cool. Oh man, and my sisters, the villagers, he’s got them all. I can’t believe this! They're... they're all gone.

Guys, the worst has happened. I barely have time to sit here and tell you all the details, but we've gotta work fast. Shiv's back, and he's worse than ever. Long story short, this vile Skarmory kidnapped my sisters back when I was just a kid... all because my dad couldn't dish out the lies that he spat. I defeated Shiv once, but I never thought I'd have to see his wretched face again. He was a thing of the past, just a terrible memory. Yet now he's back, and stronger than ever.

I should have finished the job but I-... no, that was a long time ago. Things are different now.

I thought I could do it on my own. Shiv was my problem, and mine alone. But I was wrong. I need help. I need you, fellow Rescuers. I just... I can't do this by myself. My attacks don't work, even Blizzard has no effect on him. He just takes control of the ice and shoots it back with more power and rage than I thought imaginable. Ice-types have zero chance against him; he can just control them against their will, making them do his foul bidding. To make matters worse, he’s captured all of the townsfolk, including my two sisters Mindi and Cindi... and Maple too. All the Ice-types in the whole village are under his spell-- save for a few of these dudes here-- and it's because of that Icicle Triangle. I don't know where he got it, but we've gotta get it out of his control. Nothing will be safe until we pry that instrument out of his cruel talons.

Icon Chill Determined.png Listen Rescuers, this Shiv, he's not to be taken lightly. He's ruthless. A brute. A vicious, awful uncool dude. He doesn't care about the lives of others, about what's wrong or what's right. Everything's a sick game to him; he gambles with lives. Shiv delights in over-powering weaker 'mons, and will stop at nothing until he's on top. Now he's got something new on his side and he won't stop his lust for power until he has everything. I’m just glad that my sisters and Maple aren’t under his control, I would really hate to be forced to fight them...

Shiv’s got a real mean streak, and let’s just say that these cool shades aren’t just for looks! He not only fights dirty, but he blinds his enemies as well. I think it’s to put ‘em on his own level to even the playing field, since all his fierce battling’s cost him one of his own eyes. Strategy is important here, since fists and attacks will do nothing against that steel body of his. Heh, I learned that the hard way. My battle with him left those piercing eyes of his burned into my memory...

Icon Chill Idea.png ... wait, that’s it! We can use his bad eye against him!

Now I have a feeling I know where he took them. Shiv might be unpredictable, but there’s only so many places around here that you can strategically keep a bunch of mind-controlled ‘mons hostage: Whispering Peaks, they’ve gotta be there. Let’s not fight the villagers if we don’t have to, but don’t hold back when it comes to Shiv. We’ve got some powerful and wise Pokemon on our side to help out, so give it your all!

Well dudes, what’re we doing still standin’ around here for?! Let’s go there, get that Triangle, kick some butt, and save them all! C’mon, let’s go!!!

Mission3res1.png
Icicle Triangle.png

=== RESCUERS MAIN MISSION PART 2===
Shiv has kidnapped the villagers from Snowy Village, with the exception of Barkley, Master Shao, and Zhu. Shiv is completely immune to Ice-type attacks and has control over Ice-type Pokemon out in the Whispering Peaks. Accompany Chill, Barkley, Master Shao, and Zhu into the forest and recover the Icicle Triangle from Shiv’s possession. It’s imperative to take advantage of Shiv’s blind spot in order to get the upper hand in the situation. Watch out though, he’s not above using his hostages to his advantage.

RESCUERS MAIN MISSION OBJECTIVES PART 2
-Head into Whispering Peaks
-Distract Shiv,
-Keep hostages safe
-Don’t harm controlled villagers too much!
-Obtain Icicle Triangle

Mission 4 ends on Monday November 21st

Merchants' Mission 4

Part 1

Icon PK.png
Hey guys, PK here,

Okay. We did it. We got Sorbet into the village and he’s, uh, kind of helping out. Sort of? I don’t know man, I can’t even understand what he’s saying half the time and it’s driving me up the freakin’ wall! I’M SERIOUS! Like I seriously just ran up the Merchant building in a frenzy because I was so annoyed at his stupid gibberish! It was like worse than trying to understand the stuff Shroomsworth spews sometimes...

Speaking of Shroomy, he told me he sent for some books on ancient tongues out in Sapling Village. No no no, not like my tongue, but like languages and stuff... Okay, well, he sent for them, but they never arrived. That’s what I’m trying to get at. I need those books. I don’t know what’s up with that librarian, I’ve never met her. I guess he knew her or something, from back when he lived there? I don’t know, I don’t really care.

I just want to know why she’s all holed up in her library now.

Icon PK Annoyed.png
Seriously, how rude is that? Soon as little Sporegard went and tried to get books from her, she locked him out and hasn’t emerged since. What a load of crap... doesn’t she have any freakin’ idea how important it is that we understand what Sorbet’s saying?! He’s old, REALLY old, and he just goes into this weird trance and mumbles stuff that I can’t even begin to try to replicate. I’ll probably just get Shroomy to figure that stuff out once we do get the books, I mean he practically speaks a foreign language all the time anyway...

Icon PK Aggravated.png
Whatever, let me think. Hmm, oh yeah. Sorry guys but I’m not sending babies out there. The forest is pretty treacherous at the moment. Shroomsworth and I nearly had a couple of fatal encounters out there due to, um, well, a misunderstanding between us and Slasher. I don’t really feel like talking about it further.

Anyway, this just means the forest is super hard to navigate right now. We just took on a Sneasel from Slasher’s dissolved gang though, and he’s pretty good at helping teams get through dangerous terrain. So, talk to Shroomy about "Rhodes" if you want to know more.

I guess you could use Barty’s service to get out there, but I actually think that he’s really having a tough time flying in this cold. It’s just getting colder lately. Erm... yeah.... sorry about that. Had to be done.

So... yeah. No baby or newbie teams. I want you to have gone on at least two missions, or have an evolved party member with you for this one. Sorry. I can’t risk not finding out what Sorbet’s saying-- and I don’t want to have to beat some heads in because some loser- er, new team failed miserably at this simple task of collecting books. So, this means you need to have completed two Missions to help me out. Or have an evolved dude on your team, I don’t care.

Okay, okay, I’ll be level with you for a moment...

Let’s try not to spread this around huh? But, well, I thought this dragon would totally be on our side. I mean, um, what I’m trying to say is... I thought we’d have a bit more of an influence on it than we do. He’s just way too impartial and it’s driving me nuts!

But you know what, that’s fine.

The scuffles have actually settled down, and apparently teams have already resolved disputes with his input on matters. So, that’s... that’s good. It’s just really cold now, and I can’t lie and say that I’m not a teensy bit disappointed that it’s difficult to just demand things and have them be done... (Seriously, what’s even the point? Though I guess business has been doing a bit better since Tao got frosted over. You’d think no one would wanna come here, but apparently everyone wants a glance at our frozen friend. S’fine with me.)

Icon PK Impatient.png
Augh, okay, that’s it. Don’t keep me waiting on the books. No, really, I will personally come out there myself if you keep me waiting very long at all. I don’t have the patience to deal with sloth right now. There’s too much going on, and Shroomy’s got a broken leg so I’ll really just come out there to Sapling Village myself and get the damned things if you guys don’t.

But, what could go wrong? It’s just fetching books for me.

That’s it.

-Don’t be disappointing, PK

Pkpaw.png

Icon Shroomsworth.png
Good heavens! This whole ordeal has been very taxing... but we mustn't relent.

I commend you all on working together to collect ingredients for the good doctor's medicine! We ask but one more thing of you, and that is to actually distribute the concoction, now that it is complete. Obviously, it must be distributed through the village proper, but it is also very important that some teams visit Tao Ranch and ensure that our hard-working farmers have what they need to continue their daily lives, eh wot?

Icon Shroomsworth Sad.png
Eh... some of you may already be in the know... but I was involved in somewhat of a scuffle with the leader of the Slasher Gang. He... did not survive, though I ask not to be celebrated for this. I am not proud of it. I would prefer not to discuss it further than that.

Discussing more practical matters, I suffered quite the nasty wound to my leg during the incident. Broken, outright. That is why, however much I would love to accompany you wonderful fellows to my home village, I cannot manage such a trip at the moment.

Fortunately, there's splendid news to drown out all that sad business! I say, there are silver linings, and all that rot! Through my ordeals, the Merchants have learned things about Slasher's gang members. They are really not all rotten as we tend to think. One in particular was instrumental in teaching me this...

You will know him as Rhodes. Due to his invaluable expertise at navigating the forests, several of us owe him our lives. Do get acquainted if you see him, he really is a good-hearted little chap. He now sides with us as a pathfinder, which is really quite smashing!

The lad intends to turn the gang we all know as brigands and robbers to a better life of aiding us, so first and foremost, he wishes to search for stragglers within the Creeping Forest. I agree with this wholeheartedly. Though they’ve lived a questionable way of life, they’ve proven to be very versatile, have they not? They would be wonderful additions to our ranks.

This is where you come in! Should you wish to help the adventurous young Sneasel out, accompany him into the forest and help him to convince any other Sneasels you find to join his cause. The ex-gang members come in all flavors, really... they could be very innocent, or very vicious. I ask that you do not harm them unless it is necessary for self-defense, for they are all, as far as we know, just children. Give them the chance that Slasher never gave them.

There is a complication... the snow has been spreading further and further. It now covers the terrain of Creeping Forest, freezing the waters and dropping snow drifts from the trees. I fear that the terrain will not be the same as before, paths will be covered, and you may find yourself lost if you do not rely on Rhodes's understanding of the area. Do not underestimate him just because of his youth -- he has been traveling the area for his whole life, really!

Eh... there is also another complication. Rogues... they are aware of what transpired with Slasher as well. They seek two things.

One, they wish to recruit Slasher's gang members for themselves. Please do not allow this to happen. The Rogues surely intend to bring them right back into a life of crime, regardless of their good intentions, and I cannot stand for that. If you see a recruitment taking place, do whatever it takes to sway the Sneasel in favor of siding with Rhodes and the Merchants.

Two, they wish to raid Slasher's stash of stolen goods, now that he is deceased. We, the Merchants, prefer to make our profits legitimately. However... since he is deceased, it is fair game. If you come across these goods, there is no sense in simply leaving it for the Rogues. Bring it back to us. Remember that recruitment of the Sneasels still comes as first priority, however.

I realize all of this may be rather heavy for some of you, so fear not. It is just as important to distribute medicine or help out Miss PK.

Icon Shroomsworth Happy.png
Ah! Speaking of Miss PK... she wishes for you to go to my home village's library, yes? Miss Arianna was never quite warm to outsiders... you will no doubt have a tough time accessing the literature we seek. See me before you depart, and I will write out a recommendation for you. A note from me should melt her cold shoulder a tad, eh wot?

We've had a difficult time, but I believe we can work to brighten up the coming days, even if they are rather chilly. Ah-ha-ha!

Stay Ever Classy,

Shroomsworth Breloompaw.png

MISSIONS

You may choose any of these missions. Main missions are considered harder and longer to draw, and they make a difference in the storyline.

MAIN MISSION
Mission4mer1.png
Receive a letter from Shroomsworth regarding needing permission to enter Arianna’s library in Sapling Village. Then, to make your journey easier, you may have Rhodes the pathfinder accompany you there, to Sapling Village. It’s also an option to use Barty’s service to arrive there, though the snowy skies may be a bit too treacherous for him to take you very far.

When you have arrived at Sapling Village, wait for Part 2 of this mission to be released to continue your story. Part 2 comes out Oct 17th.

SIDE MISSIONS
Mission4mer2.png
Visit the doctors stationed in their medical tent outside the Merchants’ hut and retrieve a batch of the medicine made during Event 3. Take the medicine to various Pokemon in Tao Village and Tao Ranch who need it, as necessary. Take no payment from them for this mission!

Mission4mer3.png
Go along with Rhodes through Creeping Forest to get stragglers from Slasher’s dissolved gang to join the Merchants. It’s allowed that ex-gang members join your team if you have room. Also, if you happen to come upon Slasher’s old stash of goods, feel free to bring it back to the guild. Stop any Rogues from recruiting ex-gang members if you see them.

MISSION OBJECTIVES
MAIN MISSION
Part 1
-Retrieve letter of good intentions from Shroomsworth
-Head to Sapling Village either via Creeping Forest or via the skies with Barty
-Arrive at the closed library

When you have arrived at Sapling Village, wait for Part 2 of this mission to be released to continue your story. Part 2 comes out Oct 17th.

SIDE MISSIONS
1) Collect medicine from the doctors
Distribute to Tao Village and/or Tao Ranch

2) Accompany Rhodes into Creeping Forest, which is now snowed over
Recruit ex-gang members to join the Merchants if at all possible
Don’t let the Rogues recruit the members into their guild, if you see them

Icon PK Angry.png
I can’t even believe this... you guys, how long have you been here? How long hasn’t she let you in? How long’s this been planned for? I can’t even believe it at ALL, how couldn’t you guys fetch a simple BOOK?! Now the whole freakin’ village is covered in thorns. FAN-tastic! You guys wanna guess how easy it is to trade with a village covered in thorns? I’ll give you a hint- it’s NOT EAS-

Icon Elder Neutral.png
Settle down, settle down; these young ones have been trying their best to get her out of the library. She’s... well, Arianna’s really stubborn about things she believes in. I didn’t think she’d quite take it this far...

Icon PK Perturbed.png
Ahh... okay, okay. But we’ve got a problem here, I mean even if I get the books I sent these guys for. She’s.. why she is doing this? I didn’t catch most of it during my descent, but it’s really agitating and I don’t even... Why? This is so stupid, doesn’t she know how much you guys rely on trade?!

Icon Elder Anxious.png
Well, you may recall that this is, ah, Sapling Village -- it’s a grass-type haven. As long as we have the light from above, we can live even without eating. It’s very difficult and puts quite a strain on us, but it’s possible. I think that’s what she was counting on. She doesn’t want the village to die...

Little Sporegard came to me after Arianna initially shut him out. He was asking for advice on what to do, not wanting to disappoint Shroomsworth. Unfortunately as soon as I heard about the dragon in your possession, I knew her reasons. She won’t easily be persuaded. You have to understand her reasons.. she only really cares about the safety of the village.

Icon PK Wat.png
But... the cold won’t even reach out here! I mean I stopped seeing frost, I dunno, before I even saw Merlot’s castle. This is so stupid, are you siding with her? Seriously? This is utterly ridiculous, this is just... come on, come on, I thought we had a better partnership than this! We have a good trade going on here! You... you may have helped me out before, but... but Elder, you’re making a mistake. You can’t just let her do that... no, no, no, if you don’t say a thing, we’re gonna go bust in. I’m serious, this is a load of crap. You can’t just, no, I won’t let her just decide the fate of the village like this. She doesn’t even know anything bad will happen. You don’t even know the cold will reach!

Icon PK Impatient2.png
Guys, that’s it. We’re going to go break into the library. I’ve only been in there once before, a long time ago. It’s a lot bigger than it looks -- it goes underground. And uh, well, obviously we have to watch out because somehow she has some sort of super control over plants or some garbage. I don’t know. I don’t really get what’s going on with this little insulating barrier but we’ve gotta let her know this just isn’t gonna do.

Got it? Oh, don’t forget! The book! I still want any relevant books on whatever Sorbet’s been speaking. Find anything on ancient languages. We’ll sift through it all later back at Tao, kay?

Hmm, what else...

Icon Elder Neutral.png
Hold on, let me warn you. I’d rather not see anyone needlessly hurt, so any grass Pokemon should probably stay out of the fight. She’s been the keeper of an artifact since she came into possession of the library, but I never actually thought...

Let me mention, it’s not that I agree with her... we just really can’t oppose. The Thistle Whistle has great influence over grass types. You’re lucky she didn’t use it against you, really; the whole village would’ve engaged in attack, as well as any grass Pokemon in teams.

Icon PK Panic.png
….

Ohh, oh no...oh no nononono, this is just like... this is just like that one time, with the dragons and the cello and him...

Ahhh nooo, okay, I’ll just have to make sure not to get hit by any grass move. What a giant pain!

Guys, you heard him! I don’t want any grass Pokemon getting too close to her. I’m going to do my best, but you know, she might just use her little whistle to control if she feels in a bind. Let’s try to talk things out and avoid battle.

I mean, avoid it if we can.

Icon PK Nervous Determination.png
What I’d really like is if we could end this peacefully, but she seems pretty sure of herself. I’ll admit, I’m, ah, a bit nervous about getting near one of these stupid instruments... I’ve had bad experiences with one before... It’s just really unfair to be a Kecleon right now, huh? I’m going to say right now, if something happens and I’m not in my right mind, please-- and I can’t believe I’m even saying this-- smack me around with a move of a different type. I promise I won’t yell at you (too much); It’s really the only way if something bad happens.

Let’s go and do this.

Mission4mer1.png

===MERCHANTS MAIN MISSION PART 2===

PK, in her suspicion that the teams she sent out were incompetent, has decided on a whim to visit Sapling Village. Arianna the librarian, in her suspicion that the teams visiting were an omen of terrible things to come, has surrounded Sapling Village with a gigantic thistle barrier and holed herself up in her library. PK wishes for both the books in Arianna’s possession and for trade to continue between Sapling Village and Tao Village. Elder Shroom has warned that Arianna’s Thistle Whistle allows her to control grass types if she pleases, thus making it impossible for the village to aid. PK is concerned over this, being a type-changing Pokemon. It’s imperative that Arianna lower the barrier, either via force or through slick words.

MERCHANT MAIN MISSION OBJECTIVES PART 2

-Break into Arianna’s library
-Avoid all of the plant-related traps
-Obtain books on Sorbet’s ancient tongue
-Convince/force Arianna to lower the barrier

Mission 4 ends on Monday November 21st

Rogues' Mission 4

Part 1

Icon Devonshire.png
Rogues,

While it is true that our last mission was met with failure, I, as your leader, must accept responsibility for your actions in order to be able to move forward with our next mission. Perhaps I was not motivational enough in my last letter to all of you. I will not be making the same mistake this time around. It is difficult for some to fully comprehend the gravity and importance of a mission when it deals with an idea of a future that they do not truly share with you. I am not writing this letter to you today to attempt to share these ideals with you, for by now if you do not know them, you will never know them.

Icon Devonshire Ominous.png
In place of sharing with you my ideals and visions of the future we could have put in place had you not failed me last mission, I will use a much more effective means of motivation: Fear. It was once said the oldest emotion is fear, and the strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown. If you partake in this mission with me and fail, you will most likely experience the most absolute unknown conceived of: dying. The mission I will be offering up to anyone brave enough to volunteer for it is unlike any of the previous ones you have been sent out on, and far more dangerous.

I realize that many of you Rogues are young and full of hope, and hopefully have a brighter future ahead of you than I will have. It is because of this that I will be disallowing any of you to take on this mission. I will only allow groups that have completed at least two separate missions successfully for our cause in the past to join me. If you feel you have what it takes to complete this mission and do not meet this requirement, then you may collaborate with an older, more experienced team. Your lives will be in their hands though. I have no time to babysit amateurs.

I will be starting this mission on my own, for I must conduct surveillance and gather information about our target area. You will all meet me at the edge of the Prismatic Jungle, where a great warlord Tyranitar by the name of Tivoli calls his domain. Do not arrive at night time, unless you wish to experience the previously discussed... unknown. It would be much safer for all of you if you were to arrive at high noon, when the darkness is at its smallest, and the nightmares are at their weakest.

Simple enough, isn’t it? Do not take the perceived simplicity of this task to mean you can ignore my previous restrictions on who shall be granted the privilege of taking on this mission. Should you meet all my conditions when you arrive at the edge of the Jungle to meet me, I will then, and only then explain the next half of the mission to you. For now though, I will need a couple of days of scouting on my own to ascertain what will be called upon from you.

One more thing I forgot to mention. No Dragon-types are allowed whatsoever. Should a dragon type accompany you I will send all of you on your way back to Tao Village and wait for a more suitable team to arrive.

That is all. Failure to follow my restrictions may mean the end of your lives. I’ve already passed that marker, so I have nothing to fear.

Ahoy mateys,

It be that grand ol' time again, where I, th' Glorious Gunpowder Gabite, write me letter t' ye. First, fer all ya loyal Rogues who be concerned, I have made an almost full recovery. That blasted Kecleon and her dragon..

Speakin' of, Devonshire himself requires yer assistance wit' a bit o' work. It be quite crucial, and if ya make a mistake, well.. best hope it ends ya, 'cause otherwise Devonshire will. That's bad, by th' way. Ahem! To th' point, he be needin' information on this ol' flappy beasty PK has brought upon us. Apparently, its name be Sorbet, a Kyurem. Never heard o' it before.

There be someone who might’ve, though. Merlot houses quite a library o' books, and I need ya t' fetch somethin' that might be o' use. A book, of sorts. But be warned: it is overseed by Lexy, a wee little tyke of an Eevee, and Caldera, a Chandelure. Lexy will likely be busy wit' Rescuers, as he is th' one who handles "legitimate" book rentals.

You must be as careful as ye can be. If not, Caldera will totally roast ya! It'd pain me t' see you go, but like I said, if ya fail, then yer as good as gone anyway, aye? For that reason, stealth is of utmost importance. Get 'er done!

Fer the less adventurous types.. hey, I've got me eyes on you. But I've also got a task ye may be interested in. You may have heard rumors of quite a scuffle between Slasher and our friendly Shroomsworth. Let me confirm them as true. No, no, he didn' injure himself in an extremely hectic tea time. Ha ha! I be too funny, sometimes.

Where was I? Aye. I should also say: Slasher is now dead. Scurvy dog. But it was not Shroomsworth who dealt the final blow. Or bite, if ya know what I mean. It was Sandy. To have Shroomsworth upset enough to fight, and Sandy to defend him.. some'in' serious was goin' down. Not my place t' say, though. Just glad Shroomsworth's doin' good..

Anyway! This fares well for us! The Sneasel left over from th' gang, they're lost without a leader. Head into Creeping Forest, and explain to them that I am now their leader. They and Slasher must pay for their past transgressions. Not only that, they surely know where Slasher stashed his goodies! Have them fetch some o' that good stuff for us, as well. The reward for it? Ya get t’ keep an eye on the Sneasel for me. Good deal, aye? We all get stronger.

But this ain' no cakewalk, either. It's getting' colder and icier in the forest. It's gonna be hard t' navigate, but I'm sure ya'll will manage. 'sides, once you fetch a Sneasel, you'll be in good hands! Job's half done for ya, eh? Be careful o' them Merchants, too. They want Sneasel to join their side too, but t' hell with them! They got a dragon, they don't need no more members. Stop them if at all possible.

I'd do this all meself, but you know. I can't read so good, and I'm allergic t' the cold. So, hop to it, mateys.

Farrrrrwell, Gunpowder

MISSIONS

You may choose any of these missions. Main missions are considered harder and longer to draw, and they may make a difference in the storyline depending on how well your guild does.

Mission4rog1.png

MAIN MISSION
Devonshire has left ahead to scout out the treacherous Prismatic Jungle. Leave so that you arrive during the day time. He will debrief you on the objectives of the mission when you arrive.

When you have arrived at Prismatic Jungle, wait for Part 2 of this mission to be released to continue your story. Part 2 comes out Oct 17th.

No Dragon-type may participate in this mission.

SIDE MISSIONS

Mission4rog2.png
Gunpowder has given you the order to head to Castle Draclugia. He wants information on Sorbet, the resident Kyurem. While the Rescuers are trying to legimately get a book from Lexy, one-up them and take the binder of information on the dragon via stealth. Watch out though, there’s also a Chandelure by the name of Caldera who patrols the premises of the eternally Sunny Day’d library.

Mission4rog3.png
Slasher is now dead, therefore his gang is currently leaderless. Go out to Creeping Forest and convince them that they are now Rogues working under Gunpowder. If you happen to see any Merchants trying to recruit them as well, make sure to stop that. You may let a Sneasel from the gang join your team. Pick up any treasure Slasher might have left behind, if at all possible.

MISSION OBJECTIVES
MAIN MISSION
Part 1
-Head to Prismatic Jungle so that you arrive during the day
-Wait at the outskirts for Devonshire to appear and debrief you

SIDE MISSIONS
1) -Head to Castle Draclugia
-Sneak into the library, past Lexy (who should be busy) and Caldera (who should be patrolling)
-Retrieve the binder of information on Kyurem safely

2) -Head into Creeping Forest
-Recruit any Sneasels from Slasher’s dissolved gang into the Rogue Guild
-Take from Slasher’s stash if you happen upon it

Mission 4 ends on Monday, November 21st

Had I known you would have interpreted “do not arrive at night time, noon would be much safer” to be “arrive as the sun is about to go down”, I would have asked you to show up yesterday evening. You’re either very brave and curious, or very lazy and suicidal. Nevertheless, I have roused Tivoli’s attention. We must get this done now, or not at all. I can feel it already, did you know? Tivoli will not be your only concern in a few moments. I thought I was very clear on what time you should have arrived. I guess it’s a bit too late for that now. Tivoli won’t be your only concern in a few moments, I have roused his attention. He’s very lazy, I think.

Icon Devonshire Creepy2.png
The light in their houses is very bright and disturbing, it does not like me. Or do I not like it? I cannot remember, I am sorry. If you would be so kind as to allow me to show you to your rooms, I’ll lead you to our destination. I....

We need to go to the temple in the middle of this jungle, and here you’ll find... The lights, I really don’t like them, did you know that? I’m sorry, give me a few moments to collect myself.

Icon Devonshire Thrilled.png
Ah, I feel much better now! Come along and follow me, you brave rogues. I’ll fill you in as we walk, for I am unsure as to how much time I have left tonight. The temple we are heading towards stands by itself, alone. I would normally have no problem completing this mission on my own, but the torches.. that I don’t.. the torches they have contain moonlight, somehow. I cannot linger sources of that for very long without long lasting detrimental effects, so I’m glad you came.

When we arrive at the temple, you will have to make your way inside, and head to the very bottom. I regret that I cannot inform you of the layout of the palace, but my time there was cut short by the torches. I didn’t like them. I can get you inside the temple undetected, that is all. The guards he has are all dragons and monsters of various sizes and shapes and colors and sounds and shapes and, I think. I can’t remember too well. You’ll hear music when you start heading down the stairway, I believe it to be a stringed instrument of some sort. Find the source of it and make it ours. That is your mission. I am sure the instrument will be in our fierce ruler’s chambers, where it is sure to be well guarded.. but not by him! I will see to that!

Icon Devonshire Ribbons.png

Forgive me for asking, are any of you girls? The native girls here all seem to be wearing ribbons for some reason or another, I think it would be nice if you wore ones to somewhat camouflage yourselves. I’ve.. liberated a few fine specimens of ribbon for you all to wear! Don’t mind the stains, they’re harmless.

Ahhh... we’ve approached the temple! How delightful! I was beginning to tire of walking! Ahaha, sorry! I can’t get tired of walking, my legs are simply a projection of my will, you see.

Icon Devonshire Very Happy.png

Excuse me as I go create an entrance for you all dashing charmers! Do not worry about me, for I am already dead! I will draw Tivoli out of his lair and keep him busy. I have made acquaintances with his daughter and he is a bit miffed about it, you know! He’ll be sure to come meet me, I know it. I’ve made acquaintances with his daughter, I think. I can’t really remember, but I’m sure I did. I can’t wait to meet him again! He seemed to be quite excited to see me the first time!

When you get the instrument, run away and hope you never have to come back! I’ll be fine, I assure you! Thank you for your patronage, my friends!

====ROGUES MAIN MISSION PART 2====

Devonshire has accidentally enraged Tivoli and has decided to use this to his advantage. Devonshire has found out that he himself cannot enter the temple without adverse side effects. Do not get in the way of Tivoli, as Devonshire is not in a state of mind to help you. The Draconicello is somewhere within the temple, likely in Tivoli’s room. Someone may be playing it to sooth Ribbons who earlier had an unfortunate, nightmare-inducing encounter with Devonshire.

ROGUES MAIN MISSION OBJECTIVES PART 2

-Make sure Tivoli is distracted by Devonshire before you enter the temple
-Try not to call attention to yourself as you infiltrate, as this will attract Tivoli; it will be heavily guarded by dragon and reptilian Pokemon
-Make your way into the bottommost inner chamber, where one of Tivoli’s servants may be comforting Ribbons with the Draconicello’s music
-Obtain the Draconicello and flee
