Gambitville is a town in Tao World located in the middle of the Sandsong Desert, North of Alomomola City. It serves as a place to rest from traveling within the desert, and a hot spot for outlaws to gather.

Prior to inheriting both Tao Village and Alomomola City from his brother, Agave ran a ranch here and set up a small shop.

The most notable landmark in Gambitville, aside from the abandoned ranch, is the well.

The Well

It rests in the center of the town and has been there for as long as anyone can remember. It was actually said that the well was there long before the town's establishment, as well.

The well is made up of pieces of solid gold, with large, carved rubies adorning the eyes of a Giratina. Surprisingly, any attempts at destroying, altering or removing pieces from this well have been met with failure. Failure comes in many forms: sometimes intense headaches will befall the vandalizing-would-be, and other times, the potential-criminal will forget what they were doing right in the middle of the act.

For a while now, Pokemon of Gambitville have made mental notice of newcomers who enter saloons already with a splitting headache - they're usually suspected of having tried to steal from the well.

Besides its menacing appearance, the well is a reliable source of water. Underneath runs a deep and complex system of underwater rivers and caves, nicknamed "the Styx," as Pokemon who fall into the well rarely return.

An old, abandoned boat is said to be somewhere in the depths of the well.

Missions and Events

A Thirst for Gold

At an unspecified point in time, Syrup paid a visit to a Gambiteville saloon, on behalf of a Krokorok named Mac. Some time during her drinking (which had no negative effects on her due to her typing), a Seviper named Guld entered the saloon. He declared it was his time to drink and told Syrup to leave or face him. The Skuntank had no interest in leaving her drink and challenged the villain. After Guld attempted to kill Syrup with Trump Card, but Syrup was somehow unaffected, and she was able to kill Guld by forcing his own tail through his throat. Later on, Syrup claimed the bounty that had been on Guld's head, removed his tail for a trophy, and asked the saloon bartender, a Cacturne named Donahue, to turn his lifeless body into a stew.

Reprieve

Overwhelmed with the about of responsibility thrown upon his tiny shoulders, Mike left the ruined Tao Village and sought out his mother to seek out advice. Syrup took advantage of her son's visit and showed him off to the residents of Gambitville. While visiting the general store, he met and quickly befriended Opal, who was currently employed there while she practiced her craft of gem cutting.

After the shop owner of the general store was found dead, residents of the town immediately suspected Opal, but she had been on a trip with Mike looking for gems. Not feeling safe to stay there any further, Mike insisted Opal returned to Tao Village with him as his girlfriend.

Mission 8

Some time before the events in Mission 8, the ghost of Opal's father, Gold, killed the owner of the alcohol store of Gambitville, and withheld a shipment of alcohol of the Tao Merchant's Guild. As a response, teams of Merchants were sent to the town to retrieve the shipment.

While in the past, PK and Mike began to talk about the location of Micle's ponchos in the present. While the iridescent poncho was on display in the family home in Alomomola City, Mike mentioned seeing an old poncho at his home that looked similar to the crystalline poncho. Upon learning of the location of Mike's home, PK confirmed it was indeed the very same. As it turns out, Mike and Syrup's home is located very close to Agave's old ranch, which he abandoned after he inherited both Tao Village and Alomomola City.

June Tasks 2013

After years of hibernation, Jury has awakened and found his town filled with outlaws. He and Andy asked guild members in Tao Village to come to Gambitville and help around the town. As all tasks were worth one point, all teams also had to be interviewed by Jury. The mayor did not want anyone with a criminal record to help out, so anyone who did not pass the interview could not help and had to leave town immediately.

Meanwhile, Andy organized and handed out all tasks. The first was to construct three sets of gallows to later use to teach outlaws a lesson. However, Jury also pardoned all criminal activity during his absence. He and Andy asked teams to post flyers in Alomomola City stating his pardon and welcoming back old residents who wished to start off with a clean slate. In addition, Andy was to build a town wall but needed a lot of sandstone bricks. He asked teams to just make a lot of bricks, not build the wall itself, and place the ready made bricks behind the courthouse in an orderly fashion. Andy also needed teams to go with him to announce Jury's awakening and state only Jury's word was the true law of the town, not vigilantes. And last, but not least, Huckleberry saw a Sandshrew named Timmy fall down the well just outside of town. They weren't sure if the shrew was dead or alive, but asked team to locate the body and bring him back up. This particular task, in addition to a point, also offered certain artifacts.
