Bluegill hails from somewhere off the coast of the island hosting Tao Village, and arrived sometime between Event 3 and Mission 4 prologue, seeking someone by the name of Finnegan. It is revealed in Mission 4's epilogue that this was actually an alter-ego of Gunpowder, connecting the two's past. Bluegill also appears to know Anana, but how remains a mystery.

Mission 8 Prologue

After persuading Fin to bring him to Anana, Bluegill showed up in the Kecleon's office with three foreigners whom he found while out at sea. As it turned out, the three hailed from another continent, Velle, which had recently been bombarded by powerful storms. With no where to go, Anana offered them a place to stay but assigned Bluegill to make sure the foreigners did not encounter any trouble during their stay in Alomomola City. The Swampert also mentioned to Anana that there was no way to ship or receive goods because of the storms. Template:Clr

Kayne appears to be the stereotypical pirate's parrot belonging to Bluegill; however, he is actually extremely quiet and seems to dislike most everyone, especially those who are quite loud. Because of this, many are surprised to learn that he and Gunpowder actually share a deep personal relationship, although details of it are scarce. It was revealed in Mission 4 epilogue that he has a cousin that currently resides in Tao Village. Template:Clr
