Steel City gets its names from it's metallic appearance--metal is a very rare object to come across in the Pokemon world, and this City seems to have the largest quantity of it.
Steel City is more technologically advanced than most areas: trams connect anyone and everyone to any part of the city, computers provide easy access to any information a Pokemon needs, lighting fixtures that illuminate the streets at night, elevators to take Pokemon in between the cities many levels, etc. And all these are maintained by Porygon.
The Virtual Pokemon can be found in any and all the computers which are pivotal to Steel Cities function. They take up residence within the many pieces of technology and make sure everything is running smoothly. The Porygon have a very small failure rate with accidents being an uncommon occurrence. The Porygon are all headed by Blaine, a Porygon2. Blaine has been running the City for such a long time, that it's hard to imagine the city without his presence.
The machine in which the Porygon are housed and the residents use daily are maintained by Steel City's Head Engineer, Jules. She is assited by Levi, the City's Head Electrician.
The city itself is split up by socioeconomic class. Poorer Pokemon reside on the lower levels of the city while the richer Pokemon live on the upper levels. As one goes higher between the levels, the more elaborate, creative, and inspirational the City becomes.
Missions and Events
Fresnel's Error
In his youth, Fresnel and Mary would cause mischief in Steel City, writing obscenities about Jules on walls with berry juice. The fun wouldn't last long, since Mary had to wake up early the next morning to attend class. Fresnel wished he could became an engineer, like his mother, Anbari, but Jules wouldn't allow males to ever become one. Despite long days of hard work, Anbari always managed to make dinner for her son. He came home late but ate his cold dinner.
One day, after classes, Mary and Fresnel went to the city plaza to see a visitor from outside the city's walls. Thomas had just finished preaching about the Order of the Sun but was more than happy to repeat himself when Mary showed interest in his religion. She promised to return the following day to hear more.
Spiritual Malaise
Jules noticed something strange in the main system that ran Steel City and called upon one of the Porygons within the program to find out what was going on. When the Porygon sent a message with scrabbled letters, Jules immediately contacted Blaine, head of the Porygon. However, Blaine was also acting unusual, stating a mysterious error had occurred. Unfortunately, the glitch had caused two trams to head on the rail, in opposite directions. Jules tried desperately to get some sense into Blaine, but it was too late. The trams had collided and many Pokemon died. When he finally came to his senses, Blaine did not recall acting strangely or acknowledged a mysterious error that was not listed in their manual.
Mission 7
In Anbari's letter to her son, Fresnel, she spoke a recent devastating earthquake that broke the statue of their god, along with another object. She also spoke of Jules' strange behavior recently, but did not say much else because the letter had been sneaked out of Steel City and she feared someone may have intercepted it.
