Mon-Mon used to run an old traditional Teashop along with her family. Mon-Mon's grandmother, the best teabrewer in all of Jipang, taught her that they were more uses for tea than just drinking it. She showed her secret recipes like tea that even can heal the greatest wounds, tea that would grant Pokemon love, or tea that gives you super strength. Mon-Mon learned fast and her Grandmother sent her out into the world to learn more about the different kinds of brewing secret recipes. During her journey, she met Nom-Nom and his yummy food.
Together they decided to open a restaurant in Alomomola Bay. Since then Mon-Mon orders herbs and leaves from the secret garden in Mossy Village, to make the best tea that any Pokemon would enjoy to drink.

Chapter 1
During one of the shifts in the restaurant, Mon-Mon was approached by a frazzled PK looking for help to aid her sick friend. When the young Kecleon child confirmed that her friend was "serious sick," Mon-Mon agreed to take both children to see Lamia in hope of finding a cure.
Once they had arrived to the hut, Lamia discussed possible cures for the sickly Charles, including gathering sap from an eternal tree in the west. But the sap was rare and wasn't sold. Regardless, the proposed solution reminded Mon-Mon of the legendary Life Tea of her home country that could be brewed from such an ingredient, and she agreed to give Lamia the recipe for the tea as payment for helping the Rattata.
