February Tasks 2013
|
It brings me great pleasure to announce to you all that the unveiling of our task system has been met with much success, so much so that other villages have gotten wind of what we’re doing and have started filing their own requests! I have a letter sent to me from the Pokemon inhabiting Mossy Village with some tasks, so without further delay, allow me to read them off! Each one of these tasks is worth one point.
Looks like the Merchants here are rather popular, seeing as the first two requests are for them. First off...
Mossy Village’s richest and most eccentric (they’re always both, and not just the first one, huh?) citizen wants her already opulently decorated home to be a “symbol of even greater excess than it currently is”. Evidently the walkway leading up to her house is pure silk, and she would like it decorated with the most luxurious, most colorful lights you Merchants can come up with and install on your own. Money is no object, so do your best, with your best! Send the bill to the Illumise afterwards and it will be paid promptly. Due to some of the trade routes in Tao being disrupted, the Mossy Village laborers have been left with a stockpile of quality goods, and it keeps growing! They need the help from you Merchant types to offload their excess merchandise to Pokemon all around the area. Some of their wares include fine silks, raw honeys, and pretty much any other Bug-themed item you could imagine! Do whatever you can to reduce their stockpile, and make some sales happen!
These next two are for the Rogues, and they’re certainly... pretty shady. Wow. We really allow tasks like this to be requested? What on earth could doing these possibly accomplish!? Oh well, not my business.
This Ninjask is complaining that his brother, a Shedinja, is... overprivileged? What? What does that even mean? Anyway. Supposedly this Shedinja always looks down on the Ninjask, and the Ninjask is getting pretty tired of it. He wants one of you Rogues to go into Mossy Village, find the Shedinja, and “teach him a lesson.” “Knock him down a few pegs.” “Kick him off his high-horse.” He doesn’t care how it’s done, only that it’s done.
You know that stockpile of goods I told the Merchants about? Someone wants you to sneak into the warehouse where they store all of that stuff, and put some shipping labels on them that are addressed to King’s Rock Casino in Alomomola Bay. He says not to ask, he’s unaffiliated. My ass he isn’t. How these tasks got approved, I’ll never know, but there you go!
Rescuers are up this time! Isn’t it convenient, all of you getting two guild-specific tasks? Funny how the world works sometimes, isn’t it?
A Shedinja is expressing concern over his ruffian brother, a Ninjask who lives in Mossy Village. The Shedinja has tried to talk the Ninjask out of his violent attitude and rash way of handling personal problems, but he can’t get through to him! He’d like it if a Rescuer team came out to Mossy Village, caught the Ninjask, and banished him from the village. The Ninjask more than likely will not listen to reason, so feel free to rough him up, but only a little bit, if it comes to that. A young Caterpie is approaching the time of year when all Caterpie undergo evolution into a Metapod, but she’s too frightened to do it! Her friends and family find her simply inconsolable, and would greatly appreciate if any Bug-type Rescuer who has gone through any evolution like Metapod’s to come over to Mossy Village and talk to the frightened Caterpie. Walk her through the experience, or at least try to calm her down!
That about wraps it up for the tasks that asked for a specific guild. The next four are ones that anyone can do!
What the hell is basketball season? I have never heard of this before in my life. Is that even a real word? Hold on, guys. Callahan! Come here for a minute!
...
Ok, sorry about the delay. Turns out basketball is an actual thing, and they’re having a game of it over in Mossy Village soon. Problem is, one of the competing teams is missing a player, and they desperately need someone to fill in for the open slot! The Mossy Marauders want any... “baller” who can... ugh, “slam with the best” to head on over as soon as possible and carry them to victory for the first game of the season.
Looks like it’s tourist season for Alomomola Bay, and that means a large influx of foreigners are coming to Mossy Village to check out the sights and just kind of hang out. Normally, this isn’t a problem, but the crowd this year is exceptionally noisy, and none of the citizens can get any peaceful sleep! One of the noisiest tourists is an Exploud, so, being... loud... may not be entirely his fault, but the Pokemon of the village would like someone to come and quiet the tourists down. However you have to do it is fine by them, they just want peace and quiet returned to Mossy Village.
Oh, wow! One of the residential trees that housed many Pokemon has fallen over! Everybody made it out alive, which is good, but now there are a lot of temporarily homeless Pokemon! They’d like anyone to come over and help them select and renovate a new tree to replace the old residential one. Duties would include: selecting a tree of proper size, hollowing it out, and weaving a new silk path along the ground leading to it to aid the Bug-type Pokemon that will inevitably inhabit it.
The yearly Kricketot Choir performance is scheduled very soon, and the conductor has gone missing! He’s a very forgetful Kricketune, and is usually seen lounging about in Tao Village’s Cafe. He most likely forgot about the performance coming up, which is highly irresponsible, and he should be fired immediately if I had a say in it. But I don’t. The band asks that you just find their conductor and get him over to Mossy Village before it’s too late for them to perform!
Now, it’s time to discuss the first set of rewards that you can get by completing tasks. This month, we are revealing: Egg: You may receive an egg of the typings Bug, Grass, or Rock if you have five points to trade in. Someone in Mossy Village has these, somewhere. Evolution Scroll: You may receive one of these from your guild leader if you have... ten points to trade in? Wow. You’d have to have done all your guild’s tasks, and then all the open tasks last month, and then more this month to get this!
Hmm. It looks like there are more rewards to come, but they’re all too expensive to get so far. Oh well! Maybe I’ll talk about them next month. No point in teasing about them now.
These tasks are due before March 1st
