While a majority of Pokemon stayed behind to defend the village for the [[Dark Moon Clan]], [[Mike]] and Micle recruit some guild members and headed towards the Tree of Life in order to obtain some of the tree's sap and use it to heal [[Jasmine]]. Upon arrival, however, the group was immediately attacked by the guardian, Ceylon. The Shaymin repeated what Micle had told Mike what must be done in order to obtain the sap; kill Ceylon and spill his blood on the tree. The Charmeleon attempted to reason with the Sky Shaymin, in hopes that there was another way of getting the sap. Upon hearing Jasmine's name, Ceylon told Mike if the Celebi were meant to live, then he would have to die.
