Rescuers’ Action Bulletin!

Mike Icon Hi-howdy!! This is Mike here! We’ve got an emergency, Rescuers! We’ve received a couple of letters from a spooky castle, saying they need to be rescued from the clutches of a fiend named Merlot!!! It says here that Merlot has captured them and forced them to be her servants... that’s terrible!! Wait, it also says here that she makes them wear... FRILLY OUTFITS?! That’s just plain terrible!! KHEH! This sounds like a job for Mike!! I wonder who is Merlot, though... O-oh... wow... s-she’s huge and scary... U-um... *gulp* actually I might need some help with this. If any of our brave Rescuers could come with me to stop Merlot, I’d really appreciate it... I mean, I guess I can do it by myself... (But I don’t want to ah...) M-maybe the Merchants can help us... Castle Draclugia IS on the path to their trade route. Ugh, but those Rogues... I keep wanting to be friends with Gunpowder but these bite marks... Listen, Rescuers, we should step away from those Rogues for a while. They’ve been causing more trouble than it’s worth... I wish they could learn that they’re not really doing things right... If only they understood the truth of the matter... If you want to do other work, Chill has something for you to do. It’s okay, I’ll be fine (I hope). Chill Icon Yo fellow Rescuers, Chill here! First off, I personally want to thank all of you cool guys and gals for doing so great on all of your missions. But we’ve got some bad news! I know you guys worked hard capturing those “bad eggs” from our last missions, but they’ve all escaped! Our only clue so far is this letter they sent me stating, “Your jail can’t hold TRICKSTERS like us!” Some ‘mons around town are claiming that the escaped Pokemon aren’t who we thought they were, but us Rescuers know that it’s gotta be those sneaky Rogues. They’ve been mighty antsy and stirring up even more trouble than usual, and that’s not cool. Speaking of trouble, we’ve got more work to do! A Miltank by the name of Ovaltine has been using her charm and girlish wiles to bamboozle Pokemon out of their belongings! She has to be stopped before she robs anymore unwitting Pokemon, but be careful! She’s one smooth talker. And now for an important news flash! Auntie Kanga has closed down the Kangaskhan Storage building, sobbing that her baby’s gone missing! That’s just uncool! Baby Roo needs to be found ASAP so be sure to search all of Tao Village; she can’t have gone too far! Next, the friendly neighborhood Delivery Delibird has to deliver one of Missy’s eggs to a fellow Rescuer team, but he seems have lost the directions and doesn’t remember who he needs to deliver the egg to. You could say he’s a little… bird-brained. We need to figure out this mystery before that egg hatches! In other news, Blissey’s Hatchery is back in business! If you’re wanting a new bundle of joy or perhaps a new team mate, you should give Blissey’s Hatchery a visit. The Mienfoo Dojo will soon be opening its doors, but choose wisely! Master Foo is picky with who he will offer his services to! If you have too many kids on your team, he will scold you for neglecting your child-rearing duties. Keep up the great work everyone! MISSIONS

You may choose any of these missions. Main missions are considered harder and longer to draw, and they make a difference in the storyline.

MAIN MISSION

Mike needs a team to volunteer to help him rescue Pokemon from Castle Draclugia. The victims are grass Pokemon from Sapling Village, which is reducing their population drastically. Merlot, the kidnaper, is dressing them up in frilly outfits and forcing them to be her servants. It’s also said that she has dragon-type Pokemon as her aides. We think Shroomsworth was headed this way, so if you want to convince him and his accompanying Merchant teams to help you out, that would probably increase your chances of successfully completing the mission. If you don’t make it worth their while, they probably won’t want to help, though.

SIDE MISSIONS

A very cute Miltank named Ovaltine is using her charm and girlish wiles to bamboozle Pokemon out of their belongings! You’ve got to stop her before she robs any more unwitting Pokemon! Collaboration may either take place in the form of two people working on a comic or series or images, OR you can just choose to have a cameo of another team in your comic to help you out.

SIDE MISSIONS

Find the Miltank — Show whether or not you successfully stop her from tricking Pokemon out of their possessions, through any means necessary Talk to Auntie Kanga to find out where Baby Roo was last seen — Show whether or not you find Baby Roo and take her back to Kanga Talk to the Delivery Delibird and ask him which Rescuer Team needed the egg — Show whether or not you are able to help him complete the delivery

Merchants' Mission 2

Greetings! I do wish I could exchange pleasantries with each and every one of you, but matters of dire importance hang over our heads. Sapling Village is in need of our services. They have requested a shipment of eggs to bolster their population. I will be seeing to this delivery personally, but due to certain danger, I will task those willing with accompanying me. Should you be the bold sort, then read on!

This village appears to be settled close to Draclugia Castle. Dreadful, wouldn't you say? Especially when we must approach from the opposite end of the castle! We may chance a direct path through, at risk of encountering the owner herself, or we may take a path around, through the forest. Should we encounter the castle owner, a bribe may be the best course of action. Obviously, this cuts into our profits, and that is most unpleasant. The unfortunate news about the latter choice is that the area is said to be crawling with Sneasels and Weaviles, particularly aiming to ambush the unsuspecting and take their eggs. We will certainly not back down from these ruffians, should we encounter them!

Though we are providing a benevolent service to Sapling Village, it is of the utmost importance that we uncover more information about the Grey stone, if possible. Keep your eyes peeled, fellows!

Of course, this may be a rather daunting task for some. Should that be the case, there are other pressing matters, and you just may be the one to attend to them! An unfortunate Meowth seems to have had a bit of a spill, so to speak. A right clocking upside the head! The Skitty who reported this has also reported that the poor unfortunate soul has taken to swimming in a lake rather often, claiming to be the absolute ruler of it! We need someone to bring the poor chap back to his senses.

Tangling with mental problems can be frustrating for some of you, I understand. Fear not, there is more work to be done! A very important mission, in fact -- the Blissey in charge of bestowing eggs upon teams that want them is requesting aid! Nothing too taxing, this time. You are to simply aid in handing the eggs out to those teams. That's it. Really quite simple!

Don't care for simple? My kind of fellow! We do have a special delivery that must be carried out. My fellow teammate and leader of the guild, PK, has ordered some likely delicious cakes from the Spinda Cafe! You will be entering the kitchen, to be specific, to attain these delightful dishes from the Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour who were tasked with the baking to begin with.

Those are the outstanding missions for the time being. Regardless of what you decide to undertake, know that it will be of great help to our guild as a whole! While the Rescuers and Rogues escalate their squabbling, know that the world always has a place for us and our services, just as we have a place for the world's money: in our coffers, of course! Ah-ha-ha.

Listen, it’s pretty important that you help Shroomsworth out. There’s really no way he can do this alone... well, okay, I guess he could, but for the sake of expediting the process and losing the least amount of eggs, I’d really like for some teams to go with him. I don’t care which route you pick, but sneaking through Merlot’s place is going to be a real pain in my wallet if you guys get caught. So don’t get caught. Better yet? You could go beat up the ... er, The Slasher Gang that’s crawlin’ around Creeping Forest. Yeah, appropriate name for those creepers. Watch out for Slasher though, he caused me SO many problems back when he was part of the Rogues Guild around here...

Well, listen. Slasher? That guy, he smooth talks you and tries to switch items out while you’re not paying attention. Trust me on this, that guy’s practically a magician. Double check those eggs if you take that route or Sapling Village isn’t gonna have any reason to pay us...

As for Merlot? I have no idea what her deal is. Don’t anger her, I really don’t need to send help up there to rescue Shroomsworth all dressed in a maid’s outfit or anything. Yeesh. Just try to get through the castle without being seen and don’t let the eggs get damaged.

Well, whichever route you guys think is best.

Anyway... you know what? I happen to know that the Rogues and Rescuers are headed up there for whatever reason. That’s pretty convenient for us if you can manage to trick or talk one of them into helping you pass the area safely. I’m pretty sure the Rogues are looking to kick The Slasher Gang’s butt, so really, they’re kinda’ on our side for this. The Rescuers? I have really no idea what they’re doing other than Mike’s on some escapade (as usual), this time at the castle. If their distraction helps you get through without paying, that’s great.

Hmm, yep. I think that’s about it for my advice... I have a lot of planning to do, so it’s good Shroomy could do this job for me. It pays well, and we need it.

Oh yeah and SOMEONE had better get me cakes I ordered; the delivery Pokemon has vanished or something, I don’t really care except for the fact that my cakes are late now! Come on!

MAIN MISSION

Accompany Shroomsworth, who needs to make a very important delivery of grass Pokemon eggs to Sapling Village. He’s got two options for the route; he can either go through Castle Draclugia and pay a toll to Merlot the Lugia, or he can go through Creeping Forest, which is home to the Slasher Gang, a notorious group of Sneasel led by a Weavile that’s not on good terms with the Rogues. Both of these options are dangerous; Merlot has a temper and a tendency to kidnap Pokemon, and the Slasher Gang loves to feast upon stolen eggs. It’s imperative that you get the delivery to the village no matter what, even if you need to team up with the Rescuers or the Rogues...

SIDE MISSIONS

Meowth has conked his head on something and now thinks he’s a Magikarp. His Skitty friend is extremely sad over this, she’ll do anything to get him back to normal! Please figure out a way to get him back to normal. Missy the Blissey at the daycare center needs our help. She’s really busy trying to both watch the young Pokemon and hand out eggs to teams in need of a new member. Help her out! Last of all, but most important, PK is expecting a shipment of cakes from the Spinda Cafe. The delivery Pokemon went missing, so please go pick up the cakes from the kitchen. Panpour, Pansage, and Pansear should each have a cake ready. Failure will not be tolerated.

Keep the eggs and the kids out of trouble’s way! Go to the Spinda Cafe’s kitchen to meet the monkey trio — Show whether or not you are able to retrieve the three cakes and bring them to PK’s office

Most honorable of members,

The time has passed for all of you to have succeeded with your various missions. For that, I am grateful.

I am Devonshire, and I will be taking care of all of you in Gunpowder's absence; although, given his highly nurturing nature and your outstanding abilities, I'm sure none of you will actually be in a position to require my care.

I realize that my absence may have troubled some of you, but worry not. I have been attempting to quell some of the disputes the Rescuers have been having with some of our members. They seem to think that with enough badgering, we will cave in on our views and ideals. They are wrong.

Now that we're through with the long and drawn out formalities, allow me to lay out your new missions for you.

The Gible-turned-Gabite has lost a game of wits against me and is now bound by his code of honor to retrieve an extremely precious artifact.. I am speaking of none other than my very expensive and very important stamp! IT MUST BE RETRIEVED AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT LET GUNPOWDER FAIL ME IN THIS TASK!

My stamp.. in the hands of that gang.... I can see them abusing it now! They use it to forge the authenticity of letters they write, claiming to be me. This cannot be tolerated. You are to accompany Gunpowder to the hiding place of the Sneasels and get it BACK before any more forgeries are created.

However.

Getting it back is not enough.

We need to teach the Sneasels that we shall not remain quiet once an offense is brought upon us. You will teach them a lesson on what happens when they encroach upon us. The lesson will be up to you, but know that it must be taught.

(Oh, how I'd love to go and retrieve it myself.. I can almost envision how events would pan out.. ha, ha.. haha... But we're not here to eradicate them.. Right..)

Ahem, my apologies. I got sidetracked in my own thoughts. Gunpowder said something about meeting up with some bloke named Shroomsworth (What kind of name is that, anyway?). If you need it, attempt to enlist his help in your endeavors.. but don't pay him too much.

Do not disappoint me. You all may go now.

Oh, goodness, I've forgotten about the other missions! Forgive me.

Let's see.. an Arbok has left our guild without filing the proper paperwork, and he had the gall to steal some eggs that we were... babysitting.. for the Nursery.

We also have a highly sophisticated audio device we need planted in that Charmander's office while he's away on some frivolous mission.

Right! That about sums it up. I can't help but think I'm forgetting something, though.. I'm sure it isnt too important.

Ahoy mateys, it be me again, Gunpowder. Listen up, I got an important job for ya t’ be gettin’ done! As ya may have heard, the rumors be true - Devonshire’s precious stamp be missin’! A band o’ scallywags stole it - nasty Sneasels - and are makin’ forged letters, as if it were from Devonshire heself. We can’t be havin’ this! But I can’t be doin’ it alone! So I be reachin’ out t’ ya, lend yer guild a hand in this time of need, and ya will be rewarded.

Also, I seem t' be havin' some.. troubles.. gettin' into my treasure room. Some weird door showed up and I can't get in! Them Rescuers. Must be them messin' with ol' Gunpowder. Help me get in, and I'll reward ye! But.. don't reward yerself. Or we'll have trouble.

Oh, and I should be mentionin’ this t’ ye. Keep yer eyes peeled. My searchin’ tell me we be close to figurin’ out what this stone is for. Not so useless after all.

Gunpowder has been chosen to go get back Devonshire’s stamp from the Slasher Gang, a group of Sneasel led by a Weavile located within Creeping Forest. They broke off from the Rogues guild a while ago and have stolen the stamp to forge letters by Devonshire. This is very disruptive to Devonshire’s work. Accompany Gunpowder to ensure that Devonshire’s stamp is securely retrieved. As it happens, we found out Shroomsworth might be passing through the area to make a delivery. This would be an opportune time to ally with him and his comrades in order to overpower the Slasher Gang... if he can be sufficiently convinced that it’s worth his while.

SIDE MISSIONS

An Arbok who broke off from our guild has stolen some important eggs. Retrieve them before they become lunch. We need a Bug to be placed in Mike’s office while he’s out on a mission. Please, place our agent Joltik in his office undetected. Last of all, Gunpowder’s treasure room has been blocked by a mysterious talking door. Gunpowder’s leaving for an important mission and has no time to take care of the issue before leaving. Please unblock it! ...don’t even think about pilfering the treasure, though.
