He also carries a rake for protection. He tends to try to keep to himself so you could consider him a hermit, save for the fact that the sisters Tam and Aya won't leave him be. Tam and Aya love to cheer him on in whatever he's doing, using sparks as pom-poms when they're feeling really energetic. Despite him not asking for their attention and companionship, he does appreciate the sisters' company.
