This was a half-hearted gesture--since from the beginning of their interaction, he had doubted the mental capacity of the thief. Losing patience, Skive threatened him to reveal the books. Caldera came to his aid, at the expense of Lexy's prized velvet chair. The two librarians took up arms to defend their sacred institution. Managing to corner the bandit, he temporarily immobilized the Sneasel by Mimic-ing Caldera's Flame Burst. They return the fainted Pokemon to the forest with Rawst Berries, defeathering his head for research purposes.
